Hosted by Pete Rushmer – founder of Flagship Partners, TEDx Speaker, coach and high-performance advocate. This podcast brings together raw, real and inspiring conversations with leaders who’ve felt the pressure, faced the silence, and found strength in sharing the journey. Whether you’re running a business, managing a team, or just striving to be better, INSLATT explores the highs, lows and honest truths of leading from the front. With practical insights, bold stories, and a whole lot of heart, you’ll feel part of a community that gets it. Because at the top, you don’t have to be alone – not anymore. About your host Pete Rushmer; I’m Pete Rushmer – founder of Flagship Partners and now TEDx Speaker and Coach. I am someone who’s been in the thick of it: growing businesses, leading teams, and learning (sometimes the hard way) that success can feel pretty lonely at the top. That’s why I created INSLATT – a podcast for business owners, leaders and high-performers who want to thrive without burning out. Each week, I dive into real, unfiltered conversations with inspiring guests and share lessons I’ve picked up from my own journey through corporate chaos, entrepreneurial graft, and the pursuit of something greater. If you’re hungry for personal growth, bold leadership, and connection with people who just get it, then you’re in the right place. Because the truth is; it’s not so lonely at the top… when we talk about it and share our experiences.

This one’s a bit different.
Because this time… it’s me on the other side of the conversation.
No frameworks. No polished answers. Just the truth about where I’m at right now.
I’m at a point where I know what I should be doing; more coaching, more speaking, building the podcast…doing the work that genuinely lights me up.
And yet… I’m still stuck in the day-to-day.
Still holding on. Still in control.
In this episode, we unpack that tension—the gap between knowing and doing.
We get into:
Why I’m shifting my focus toward coaching and the podcast—and what’s pulling me there
The honest struggle with letting go of Flagship’s day-to-day, even when I know it’s the right move
The fear that creeps in… “What if I let go and it all falls apart?”
Why chasing podcast numbers doesn’t sit right with me—and what I care about instead
And how vulnerability, as uncomfortable as it is, might actually be the unlock for better leadership
There’s a moment in here where it really hits me…
Sometimes the thing keeping you stuck isn’t a lack of strategy—it’s the part of you that still needs to feel in control.
If you’re a business owner who knows you need to step up, step back, or step differently…this one will probably feel uncomfortably familiar.

Most high-performing men don’t burn out because they’re weak…they burn out because they’ve been strong for too long, in the wrong way.
In this episode, we sit down with Cassandra Andrews to unpack something that sits beneath so many leaders I work with but rarely gets said out loud.
The mask.
The pressure to provide. To hold it together. To lead, no matter what it’s costing underneath.
We explore why so many successful men feel trapped despite “having it all”… and how much of that comes from outdated definitions of strength we’ve inherited, not chosen.
This is a conversation about unlearning masculinity—not rejecting it, but redefining it.
There’s also a big message in here…
You don’t have to carry it all, all the time.
If you’re a leader, founder, or someone who’s always “the strong one”… this one might hit closer to home than you expect.
In this episode we discuss:
Why emotional literacy is becoming one of the most important leadership skills today
The difference between push-driven ambition and purpose that actually pulls you forward
How misaligned values quietly create hollow success
And why something as simple as journaling might be one of the most powerful tools high performers are ignoring

When Should a Leader Stop Something That’s Working? | Strategic Leadership & The CLOSE Framework
In this episode, we explore a counter-intuitive leadership question: when should you stop doing something… even when it’s going well?
Many leaders hold onto successful projects, roles, or commitments simply because they work. But great leadership isn’t just about starting things — it’s about knowing when to stop, pivot, or delegate so you can focus on what truly moves the business forward.
In this conversation, we introduce the CLOSE framework, a practical decision-making tool leaders can use to evaluate whether an activity still deserves their time and energy.
Using real examples from leadership and business growth, we discuss how evolving priorities require leaders to regularly reassess their commitments. Sometimes the most powerful decision a leader can make is to end something at its peak — freeing capacity for bigger opportunities.
You’ll also hear why leadership isn’t about managing time but managing priorities, and how failing to stop misaligned activities can quietly drain energy, create burnout, and limit growth.
If you’re a business owner, entrepreneur, or leader juggling too many responsibilities, this episode will help you make clearer decisions about what to keep, what to delegate, and what to let go.
In this episode we discuss:
Why leaders must sometimes stop successful projects to grow
The CLOSE framework for deciding when to continue, delegate or stop
Why leadership is really about managing priorities, not time
How holding onto old commitments limits growth and impact
The importance of aligning activities with your long-term vision
How ending things intentionally can prevent burnout and increase focus
The CLOSE Framework Explained:
C – Capacity: Is this the best use of your time right now?L – Leverage: Does the effort compound or depend on your constant input?O – Ownership: Can someone else successfully take this on?S – Strategic Fit: Does it still align with your long-term goals?E – Energy: Does it energise you or quietly drain you?
Great leaders aren’t defined by how much they do — they’re defined by what they choose to stop doing.
🎧 This episode is ideal for listeners interested in leadership development, strategic decision-making, entrepreneurship, productivity, and business growth.

Unfiltered Leadership: Why Being Liked Is Overrated | Leadership, Decision-Making & Respect
In this episode of the podcast, we tackle a leadership myth that quietly undermines performance in organisations everywhere: the need to be liked.
Many leaders dilute their decisions, over-explain themselves, and hesitate to act because they fear judgement or disapproval. But great leadership isn’t about popularity. It’s about clarity, courage and respect.
In this honest conversation, we explore why the most effective leaders focus on earning respect rather than chasing approval, and how filtering decisions through values can transform your confidence and impact.
Drawing lessons from iconic leaders such as Sir Alex Ferguson, we discuss why tough decisions are often unpopular in the moment but essential for long-term success.
You’ll learn how to separate useful feedback from background noise, protect your energy as a leader, and make decisions aligned with your values rather than other people’s expectations.
If you’ve ever felt the pressure to please everyone at work, this episode will help you step back, reset your leadership mindset, and lead with strength and integrity.
In this episode we discuss:
Why great leaders prioritise respect over being liked
How fear of judgement weakens leadership decisions
Using your personal values as a leadership compass
Filtering constructive feedback from unhelpful criticism
Why trying to please everyone leads to burnout and indecision
The difference between popularity and real leadership influence
Whether you’re a business owner, manager, entrepreneur or aspiring leader, this episode will challenge you to rethink how you lead.
